The Delphos Area Browns Backers was formed in November of 2002 by 23 ardent Browns fans. They received an official Worldwide Browns Backers Charter in January of 2003 with a membership of 53. Membership has grown to a total of 204 members at the end of the 2005 season.

The Delphos club is Charter #329 and there are Browns Backers Clubs not only all across the U.S. but all over the world. From time to time we will post some information regarding the club, such as board meeting announcements and club parties. The club president, Stan Wiechart, also notifies members about these events via email or snail mail.

I post the club's most recent news on this page. The club typically meets on the first Monday of the month at the Rustic Cafe in Delphos. During the NFL regular season, stop up at the Rustic to enjoy the game, eat some great food, and enjoy an icy cold beverage.

The Delphos Area Browns Backers Club raises money for charities like The American Cancer Society and The Delphos Community Christmas Project. We raise money from raffles, 50/50 drawings, and contests. We have set up a college scholarship and have awarded it for the past three years. One student from Delphos Jefferson and another from Saint John's High School are the recipients of this.

It's not enough to provide a full-ride to Harvard Law School, but it does help offset the escalating cost of books and other supplies. Since the club's inception, the DABB has awarded $3500 in scholarships to local students wishing to continue their education.

The DABB has raised over $3200 for the Relay for Life in Delphos. Some other groups that have received funds are the Browns Charity Foundation, the Santa Visitation Program, the Delphos Veterans Memorial, and helped pay postage for a local Girl Scout Troop to send packages to those serving in Iraq. We have posted pictures from Browns games, training camp, Rustic parties, and Delphos Canal Days Parade. Thanks for visiting and Go Browns.
